Activity: TROPICAL STORM BERTHA

As you can see with the latest update from the Hurricane Center Miami, Tropical Storm BERTHA has now resumed its northwestward motion at a speed of around 5 MPH.

The latest forecast 'CONE of POSSIBILITY', has now shifted slightly to the north.

At that point, tracks indicate that BERTHA will be decreasing to Depression status and continuing along the north Gulf Coast the the Texas Louisiana border.

There are no indications that the Coastal Bend of Texas (or even the entire Texas Coastline for that matter) will see any significant impacts other than maybe some increased swell activity along our beach areas and some rain bands Friday or Saturday.

Let's all be just be in the 'Monitor Mode'.

If for no other reason, use this as a remember to check your tropical activity plans, check your go kits, and be sure to check that your insurance coverage is up to date as we head into the 'meat' of the 2026 hurricane season.
